iCloud Connection Error Loop

Out of the blue, I started to get the "This Mac can't connect to the iCloud because of a problem with username@mac.com" error. I am running OS 10.14.6 on a Mac Mini.

When I enter my password, I get the error "This action could not be completed. Try again."

This is what I've tried WITHOUT any success:

  • Reboot, and reattempt at log in

  • Reboot in Safe Mode, and reattempt at log in

  • Signing out of my iCloud account: When I try this, I am prompted for my password to log out of Find My Mac. When I enter the password, I get the error "This action could not be completed. Try again." I get stuck in this loop.

  • I removed the iCloud Configurations files and iCloud Cache files, rebooted. Now when I go to System Preferences>iCloud, my account picture shows up with "???" for the name and nothing in the adjacent pane that usually shows all of my iCloud Services. When I try to sign out of account, a "spinning wheel" shows up under the "greyed-out" Account Details button, and it stays like this forever.

  • I tried removing my Mac Mini from the Find My section of the iCloud.com website, and still no success with the above steps.

My iCloud services work on all of my other devices (Brand new MacBook Pro, two iPads, and an iPhone), and everything seems to work on the iCloud website.

This is all very frustrating. Thank you in advance for any suggestions.
