Are there any plugins that are necessary on Mojave 10.14.6. I am having trouble with my computer and am wondering if the plugins are a problem.......

Download and run Etrecheck. Etrecheck is a diagnostic tool that was developed by one of the most respected users here in the ASC and recommended by Apple Support  to provide a snapshot of the system and help identify the more obvious culprits that can adversely affect a Mac's performance.

Copy the report

and use the Add Text button to include the report in your reply. How to use the Add Text Feature When Posting Large Amounts of Text, i.e. an Etrecheck Report

Before running Etrecheck assign Full Disk Access to Etrecheck so that it can get additional information from the Console and log files for the report:

Then we can examine the report and see if we can determine what's causing the problem..

Forget the "Plug in" thing...

Thanks for responding to my stupid question......stupid because I have no idea what my problem is!!!! I am not that computer literate, but I do know when something is wrong or just bugging the **** out of me!! Following is my problem:

When I click on an "X" or "selection I want" or like just now I wanted to change a word and a box came up wanting to know if I wanted to go to dictionary.....a stupid box pops up giving me "options", like going to the dictionary... And sometimes I can't even make a selection or highlight something. It just freezes up.

I don't know if you understand what I am trying to say..I am so friggin' frustrated. It takes me twice as long to compose, change, shop, view stuff or just play around, because I keep having to click off those boxes, or wait until the "freeze" is over.

HI there! I don't use a right click, I only use the left click and have been doing that for years. Seems like the left click and the right click get me to the same place (or not). I don't get the little "hand" to make selections "sometimes". It's not always doing this. And I get a freeze where I have to wait until whatever feels like giving me the ability to make my selection. BUT, the first "fix" you showed me is exactly what it looks like (although there are several different boxes that come up). If I just click it off a few times I finally get the task done. Also I did download that EtreCheck program, but haven't run it yet.

Thanks!

Well now, I don't know if this cured my problem, but I will tell you it sure is faster starting up!!! And, I got the little hand instead of the arrow to make my choices. I will have to play a little to see if I am "cured" of my frustration! That would be wonderful. I am shutting down now, been up since 2:30am. Thank you so much, I will get back to you to let you know all is well, or not, and say Thank You.
