Apple TV 4k remote 10 secs skip not working

I've just upgraded from a 4th gen AppleTV to a 4k AppleTV and when I want to skip forward 10 seconds by pressing the right side of the remote, nothing happens.

I'm having to press slightly off right centre but

a) This rarely works

b) It's not obvious where to press

c) 9/10 times this activates the pause feature

I've never had this problem on the 4th gen remote as pressing anywhere on the right hand side of the touchpad skips 10 secs forward. It takes me 4 or 5 times, usually pausing and unpausing, to find just the right spot.

Just wondered if this is the same for everyone or should I go to the apple store for a replacement?
