What units are using wifi on my time capsule/airport?

Power off all of your WiFi devices, but leave the Time Capsule powered on.

Start up one WiFi device only and give it a minute or two to run.

Then open AirPort Utility and jot down the ID name or number of the Wireless Client that is running.

Start up another WiFi device and give it a minute or two to run.

Open AirPort Utility again and you will see two WiFi devices. You already know what the first device is because you have noted the ID for the device. Now jot down the ID of the second device.

Keep starting up WiFi devices one at a time and jotting down the info about each device.

Keep your "cheat sheet" handy so you can refer to it in the future.

With luck, the Wireless Clients display might change to show the actual name of the device at some point in the future.

Sometimes you can figure out via the MAC address registration.

Just google the MAC address .. the first 3 Hexa numbers are registered to different companies.

So your first one.. 60:12:8B is registered to Canon .. so do you have a canon printer or camera??

Your second one.. 78:4F:43 is registered to Apple. Could be a phone.. could be a iPod or ipad or basically any Apple gadget.

Easy way to test.. change the password for your wireless.. everything will drop off your wireless network except the computer you use to change the password as long as you save to your keychain.

Now change the password in all your devices.. one by one.. and as they list in the airport utility make a note of them.

Apple used this system where devices show up by whatever .. IPaddress one day, MAC address the next.. NetBIOS name day after that. There is no rhyme or reason to it.. Apple logic!!
