German Keyboard problem
Its impossible to write the at symbol using the german keyboard and the option + L
any ideas on how to fix it?

One work-around for symbols & other characters is to use Keyboard Viewer.
And helps to have set the 'viewer button' to appear in menubar, in advance..
Method you've tried (Opt+L) is the common @ symbol on German keyboard.

Glad you were able to find closure on this issue; as part of troubleshooting its
always a fair idea to have good or new spare USB keyboards & mice nearby.
These are great for use daily with portable (on table, desktop replacement) or
to alleviate stress on the internal to lengthen its life; or to just troubleshoot.
..I've just enough on hand, over years & several Macs, to retain 2+ spares, new in box..
Are you actually using the Swiss German input source? That has @ at Option G.
Thank you guys but nothing works. I tried everything.... finally contacted support and apparently is a keyboard problem.
