Voice Control is not working

I love this new accessibility feature that iOS 13 introduced. It’s definitely great for people who have mobility issues but also great for instances when you can’t physically interact with your phone. My problem is, this feature seems to not work on my iPhone 11 Pro Max. When I updated my iPhone XS to iOS 13, this feature was working.

I enabled it in Settings, but the microphone icon beside the time is greyed out. It goes blue for a fraction of a second but stays greyed out all throughout. I tried enabling and disabling Attention Aware, but that didn’t work. Also went to Privacy > Microphone, but there was no option for it there.

Does anyone have any idea as to how to fix this? I just updated to iOS 13.1.2 (the issue has been there since iOS 13 up to 13.1.1).

Hi jofromhove

Voice Access is working for me, and I am not American, or based in the USA.

It is true that the only Language available is English (US), but for English speakers this does not appear to cause any major issues.

Of course, if you are a non English speaker, this must be very frustrating and something I too hope Apple will address soon. As with many features on these devices, universal language support tends to require sometime to roll out following the release of a feature, but I would rather have something sooner rather than nothing until all the languages are available.

Can you use your hands? As if you are holy reliant on it [Add your own W) the sheer number of mistakes makes it either extremely slow as it is so flawed with a mistakes or impossiblepossible. There's a lovely example there. I could spend the next three minutes using the grid to create a cingular space between the extra word possible but that would to drag this few lines of a comment into 10 minutes. If you are severely disabled it is far from a substitute and themistakes so numerous, with so many functions in possible in possible in possible in possible, OK just imagine I am writing the letter ILM possible with a bonus L in there… it is literally crippling. Aside from the problems of accent and pronouncing letters and words in a completely different way, spelling them differently to, as you can see the grandma is a palling replaced grandma with grandma

The grammar is a palling a palling it's a palling I officially give up.

I agree dictation has a lot of problems - but that does not mean voice control does not work.

Having waited around 10 years for the iPad/iPhone to have any accessibility options for people with mobility issues I am encouraged with what has been done in the last couple of releases. It is still in my view a work in progress and I hope that there are many more improvements to come.

What Apple needs in more feedback from people who are users. I know this is likely to be frustrating as fixes might not be quick, but what other option is there.

Voice control repeatedly does not work, as in all of voice control not just exclusively the dictation, which is of course a palling. It is a work in progress, which is why he should be released as the time not a final product, or indeed advertise exclusively for American a english instead of claiming it as universal for all users, while removing- the previous dictation which had the option off every language, in other words rendering it useless.

Given the removal of dragons for Mac, this is nothing to what was possible previously, before october2018, house now any of these expensive devices.

It's not so much frustrating, there is a start, but excruciating and debilitating, literally crippling repeatedly giving feedback. There is an even a date other languages such as British English. And this is too painful to continue.
