So over the last week Ive been doing a little testing.

100% of the time (25+ times) when starting the car at the back of my property or out and about with the phone on me and no apple watch on it connects fine although twice it connected the phone for calls but didn't connect for music and I had to manually click the music device connection and it would then connect without issue.

Around 50% of the time (10 times) when I would start the car while either wearing the watch or even if I started the car from the front of my property which is right next to my bedroom so the watch would be in range of my cell and I assume still be connected on some level the Iphone 11 pro would not connect to my 2012 Chrysler 300.

The reason I still think its on the uconnect end is as follows;

  1. I had this issue with my last iphoneX for the previous 18 months around twice a month. It was noticeable enough to me that I would only start my car in the morning to warm up if my iphone was left in the kitchen next to the driveway so the phone was never out of range of the car.
  2. I previously noticed with the iphoneX that if the car connected and then I took the phone out of range of the car it was 50/50 if the car would reconnect when I went back into range.
  3. If the car didnt connect or lost connection due to range the only way to reconnect was to turn the car off and leave it off for 5+ mins. No amount of button clicking in either the bluetooth menus of the car or phone would ever get it back. If i lose connection due to range in my van with a pioneer headunit I simply connect again via the bluetooth menu of the iphone and 100% of the time within 2 seconds its reconnected.

My conclusions from reading the posts here and my own experience are;

  1. It appears that if you have any device connected via bluetooth (not limited to just the apple watch seeing others have had the issue while wearing other brand smart watches) we run the risk of our phone not connecting to uconnect.
  2. It seems to only be an issue with unconnect and iphone as others and myself have no issue with connecting to any other brand headunits.
  3. The later your iphone model is the greater your chance of seeing the issue

Well since my last post & 5 apple reps, 1 hour on the phone they had me do a total rest of my work phone-lost all my passwords etc. I got 1 full day of my phone connecting to my 2014 Dodge Journey. This morning get in my truck & guess what no Bluetooth connection. I will be calling again later today. I am just amazed that 2 years with my iPhone X & not one issue!!!

I was contacted by Apple support last Thursday and we spent sometime troubleshooting the connection problem. They added a profile to my phone, and then we set about duplicating the problem in my vehicle. Over 20 minutes we were able to duplicate the non-connection 6 times. We uploaded the diagnostic logs to them, and they said engineering would be intouch with me shortly......

Okay. So I didn't want to come in and speak too soon, but I've been in the same boat as you all (Chrysler 300, UConnect). I couldn't figure out what the pattern was to when my phone would connect or not until I read the post about the iWatch. So starting on the 27th (3 days ago) I stopped wearing my watch in the car. It has connect over 15 times in a row. I hope to not jinx it, but it's seeming pretty conclusive to me that that is the culprit here, as it was a 50/50 at best before. Maybe the apple engineers can work it out with that extra data point.

Do you all have iWatches, or other Bluetooth peripherals nearby when you try to connect to your car?

Not to jinx anything but this evening I left my i-watch in the house and for sure my U-Connect had no problem connecting right up . I call Apple support last week and the tech wiped the 11 pro max clean and put the most recent iOS software on the iPhone (which was already there anyway ) and it

still would disconnect . It seems that the I-watch is causing major

interference with the U-Connect. All other Bluetooth devices are connecting

just fine . I’m to the point where I am considering

upgrading my stereo system to a pioneer dvd and nav combo. But we will see how everything goes without the Apple Watch . I will give more updates later in the week. Thanks you guys for the information!!!

I also have the same issue (Chrysler 300 in New Zealand with iPhone 11 Pro) but I was blaming the Chrysler as I have no issue ever connecting to my other cars or any other Bluetooth device I use.

I’ve had this issue intermittently with my iphoneX over the last year and a half where if it doesn’t connect when you start the car the only way is to stop the car and wait for some time and start again. Since getting the 11 pro the issue is much much much worse

I'm starting to think the Apple Watch has a factor in this so kudos to whoever brought it up. What I have been doing now is remote starting my car while I'm far away from it. That means my phone and Apple Watch are not near the car when it starts and when I walk up, the phone connects. It's been working like a champ the past few days This needs to be fixed but this workaround has been working for me.

Interesting about the remote start and then it connecting when you get near it. With my iphoneX for the 18 months or so I actually found the opposite so much so that in the morning I would walk out to the car and start it to warm up (no remote start) but I would first make sure my phone was either left in the car or in the kitchen so it was very close to the car and would connect straight away. I found that if it didn’t connect straight away it was more likely to not connect. I use the Chrysler 300 for Uber/Chauffeur work so probably started the car a lot more than most. IphoneX connect issue was probably 1-2 a week but the iPhone 11 Pro is more like 50%. I’ve looked on Uconnect for a Bluetooth update but there’s nothing for me since 2014 and I’ve done those updates

So, here is my update.....after performing an Uconnect update to my 2014 Dodge Journey & on the advice of the rep. I set up my own pin replacing that magical 0000 pin. I then took my Iphone 11 pro back to apple & was advised that it appeared I had a bad phone. It has now been 5 days since all this & I have thankfully only had 1 disconnect. Upon checking my Uconnect pin # I noticed it had set it self back to 0000. I punched in my new pin # & turned on/off the bluetooth in my truck & it worked. I do wear a Iwatch series 5 & it has been connected pretty steady as well as my airpods.

Pretty sure it's the same update as 13.3 beta 4. I tried that yesterday and the bluetooth issue with uconnect was still present. No apple watch (garmin fenix watch) so I don't think this issue is specific to apple watch users. This all started with the latest 13.2 and later updates. Based on what i'm seeing on forums and such, it looks like a widespread issue but Apple doesn't have it on a priority list.

I'm using a 2012 wrangler with the uconnect 730N (RHR). I can receive calls without issue. Not sure on siri. Navigation interrupts as if it's a phone call as expected. When I try to pair it for media (spotify or anything else really), sometimes it locks up the audio on the unit so even if I change back to radio audio isn't working (and I have to turn it off and back on). Other times, it'll fail to connect, or act like it's connected but not play any audio at all.

Not sure if others are expeirencing the same thing.

iPhone X here. Wife's iPhone XS Max on the 13.2.x and later does the same thing.
