Can’t save as new clip

Is this being worked on?? Because this is a major issue and everyone That I know that has an iPhone is having this same issue. You can’t trim a video and save it as a new clip, it trims the original and tosses the rest. You then have the option to revert back to original and discard the changes which would undo the edits. But that’s a headache in itself!! Please help.

Dear Apple Engineers,

PLEASE BRING THIS FEATURE BACK.

Often times we record videos of which we only want to keep a part of.

By saving new clips, we can delete the original files/videos that take up a lot of space.

It's very useful. We all want it back. So please bring it back.

Just bought an iPhone 11 pro. I specifically went for this phone for the camera features. I use the camera a lot for photographing and videoing dog agility training. I have spent ages this evening trying to trim videos only to find that the feature has vanished. I used this feature almost daily, what’s going on???! I hope this is just a blip and Apple engineers are fixing the issue. If not, this is a serious oversight in the latest iOS update. Not happy!

Did you delete it yourself? If you go to the albums tab and scroll all the way to the bottom, there is a recently deleted folder where you can restore it. if you just hit save not save as a new clip, you should be able to restore the original video by hitting edit on it.

WTF!? In NEW IPHONE is the same??? God sake... Goood to know! I am canceling my order then! I was going to buy a new iphone cause I was tired of that *****g issue in my iPhone XS Max.

But if its still the same then I am staying with my old phone.. Not going to pay for not working **** like that

I have iOS13.3.1 now all apple Photos app STOP WORKING every time I want to trim longer video... I need to turn off app or turn off the phone but still not helping. Every time i am trying to trim a (longer that 3minutes) video & save it as a new copy then the app stop work!

I have enough of those problems.. its few months now.. thats ridiculous.. I am a video blogger & 2 month ago i stopped posting anything cause i dont have how!

ps: no there is no Error showing up & I have 360GB free space on my phone. One thing i dont have its mobile access 80% days now.

I’m editing using external apps until this is sorted.

I mean yeah that technically creates a new clip, but the issue is the new clip is the full video, we want to actually trim the video and reduce the file size.

All I want to do is trim videos and save clips. Arrrggghhh!

it's super annoying. they don't seem to care.

All these solutions work but we wouldn’t need them if the trim original/save new clip hadn’t been removed in the first place. It was perfect in its simplicity.

Using iMessage works great if clip isn’t too large and on wifi but if on cellular and signal is weak then that could take some time to get it through. Using the iMovie extension works great for me.
