If you can update to Catalina (due later this month) Reminders will work again.

How is that a “rant”? I’m asking a question. It was very handy having the Reminders app in the dashboard. I’m asking if it is now useless - as in delete it. Sometimes I’m on my Mac doing things that are not online, and it’s a lot easier to click on something in the dashboard than to have to log in to see something. I wish they hadn’t done that.
If you have an iMac unless you live somewhere very very remote where you rely on satellite networking then there is no reason to not to be connected to the Internet 24/7!
