Siri

I have a problem with safety while using Siri. I mean, when my iPhone is blocked, I can’t using all of functions of Siri without entering the password. (For example, to know the telephone number of any contact, I need to enter password). BUT. When I ask Siri to read my messages (my iPhone is still blocking now), Siri does it!!! We tried to do this with another voice, and Siri did it again. It means, when I lose my phone, anyone can read my messages, including private messages (for example, from my bank). It’s bad. Please, try to do smth with it. :)

P.s. I’m using iPhone 8, iOS 13.

P.P.S. Thank you.

Hi kverchi,

It sounds like you had a question about your iPhone reading Messages, and I want to help.

By default, Messages Notifications can only be read if your iPhone is unlocked, this includes when using Siri.

If Siri reads your Messages without needing to be unlocked, you can change that behavior in Settings > Notifications > Messages > Show Previews. If you choose the option for When Unlocked or Never, Siri will not read your Messages until your iPhone is unlocked.

Good luck.
