iPhone 11 call volume extremely low

Did you manage to fix it? I’ve had this phone for over 6 months now so mines not the clear film either but can’t get my sound to work when on phone calls unless on loud speaker

With the pandemic I have not been able to get to an Apple store so I have not been able to get it fixed.

I totally agree. My phone was fine until the update and now i can’t hear speaker calls or in phone calls hardly. Something changd the phone with the update

That’s not my problem.. mine was fine until the last update. Now i have to put the phone to my ear on speaker phone where before it was very loud

I have an iPhone 11 the volume is very low when I answer a phone call and have to put it on speaker to hear the other person. There is no plastic cover on the screen so that is not the problem.

This is the worst thing apple has done as a musician I have to change phones

Is the plastic that covers the screen! Take it off and then you will hear the voice loud when your talking with someone in the phone. I was about to return it and get a new one or fix but is the plastic that was interfering with the income voice .

I took the plastic off but..... I installed a plastic screen protector.... upside down. It was covering the sound pick up. I was able to remove the screen protector and turn it right side up , now my volume is fine!

This is EXTREMELY TRUE 😭😭👌🏼 I took my plastic cover off and I was able to hear the calls perfectly fine afterwards. That’s so weird how a flimsy little thing impacts it that much, but I glad that was all it took to “fix it”. 👍🏼

that's the exact problem I had - I had to listen to every call on speaker or I couldn't hear it properly.

the phone company techs did every check and said it was faulty so it was replaced with a new phone.

I was thinking this might be a software issue because so many new phones were having this problem. After several months I finally gave up and checked with a local phone repair shop that offers ear speaker replacement service. The technician replaced the ear speaker which solved the problem. It's difficult to know if that is what's causing the problem for so many users.

I went to the Genius bar today. I ran into the same problem. After running several tests on my device. A couple issues were detected with their assessment software on the earpiece of the device . They end up cleaning it with some kind of cleaning swab a pencil and some other tools. It did the trick. (please note that the dust was not showing on the earpiece whatsoever). I was afraid it would not work. But I was relieved. The tech told me if it had been the case, the screen would have to be replaced.

Oh, wow, ya’ll are absolutely amazing! I never thought about where the speakers are on my new iPhone11. I invested in a rugged Speck cover and a Zagg screen protector as soon as I got it. I, too, had unwittingly applied my Zagg screen protector over the speaker at the top of my phone. So that’s why the protector has a notch in it! Duh. Fortunately, I was able to get the Zagg protector off, turn it around to put the notch over the speaker, and voila! Problem solved. I couldn’t imagine Apple would really sell us all expensive phones that could only work properly without any protection — that would get outrageously expensive really fast. Many thanks to all! And Apple, too!

I also had trouble hearing and it was I put the shield on upside down, simply user error.
