I just purchased the Iphone 11 and updated to iOS 13.1.2.
When making phone calls and whatsapp calls the volume is extremely low. I have to put the phone on Speaker mode to hear anything.
The volume is set to max.
I have switched Bluetooth on and off.
Any ideas?

When I received the new Iphone11 I too had the same issue on low hearing.
Just I removed the temporary protection sheet blocking the speaker.
It became normal.
My sincere suggestion is that Apple must print this info on the top of the temporary
protective sticker to avoid people getting disappointed unnecessarily with Apple!!!!!

Thanks. But my problem is only only with the earpiece speaker. The bottom speaker works very well. When I put my phone on “Speaker” mode the bottom speakers kick in and work well.
This is my issue but I did take off the plastic. Should I take off the new screen protector?
I feel like such a twit! I had the same problem with the volume of callers being really quiet. Then I realised I had put my new screen protector on upside down and it was covering the speaker.
They did fix it by cleaning the ear speaker. Dirt, ear wax, make up can easily clog the output sound of your iPhone. I am no expert but it is a common issue.
Hi Amy-louise, yes we fixed it ourselves by cleaning the speaker, we used a small stiff brush designed for cleaning keyboards.

My iPhone 11 did the same thing until I took off my Zagg screen protector and turned it around. I had put it on upside down!
The Zagg cutout goes at the top. That’s where the speaker is.
