call volume too low on iPhone 8, iOS 13.5.1

I have had this issue on at least 20 different iPhone 7, 8, or 8 Plus devices within our company after the iOS 13.3 update or later. In all but one case I have done a factory reset on the device and it has corrected the issue.

I understand the sound during phone calls is lower than expected.

I would recommend following the steps here: If you hear no sound or distorted sound from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch speaker.

In most scenarios I did an iCloud backup of the device and did a factory reset from the device itself, then performed a restore from iCloud. I did have a couple iPhone 7s that needed to be reset using DFU mode through iTunes, but that was due to connectivity.

Same problem, very frustrating. I have to use the speaker on every call. I've tried adjusting every audio-related setting that I can find that might be causing this. I've cleaned the speaker. Nearest Apple store is a 6-hour drive. I've reported the problem on Apple's feedback page.

I’m having the exact same issue!!! I have checked/tested the sound on all the speakers with no issues. Literally, the call volume has plummeted to such a low volume that I have to have all calls on speaker phone to hear 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

Unfortunately, Apple's hardware and software reliability seems to be on the decline. Some of the new MacBooks have very serious problems and the new, upscale iPhones appear to have issues as well. It's too bad but there are aren't many alternatives.

I experience the same problem recently with latest update of iOS 13.5.1 (iPhone 8plus) ! The call volumes was incredible low ! I have to use my loudspeakers or EarPod to pickup calls !

Hi, did you restore those iPhones using finder/iTunes on Mac or via the “Reset All Settings” on the iPhone directly?

Use blu tac in the earphone grill to pull out any micro dirt. Really easy to fix
