Hotspot not working on OS 13.1.2

Hey Charo1973, still not fixed in iOS 13.2.3; our workaround of releasing and renewing the hotspot ip address still works after the update, but unfortunately this issue persists. It’s still present in 13.3 beta even.

Hotspot worse after 13.3 update. Apple confirmed it’s a bug in 13.

Apple - kind of a big deal. When can we expect a fix ??

That’s not true. Putting the phone on charge doesn’t help the hotspot. It is a problem in the software and I’m so angry about it. Our hotspots are how we all access the internet in my home because we don’t have access to high speed internet where we live.

We have been experiencing this issue on iPad 12.9" and iPhones. Occurs on Verizon or AT&T carriers, so it's definitely an Apple issue and not the carrier. We've tried everything under the sun to fix. I've tried everything mentioned in this thread. I've even tried replacing the SIM card, all to no avail.

I'd estimate the issues started roughly 3 months ago and Apple still has not addressed the bug or acknowledged it as a problem.

This seems to be a big issue with IOS 13. There is another thread that had a few things to try, but nothing seems significant.

also have this issue on a 6+ , when using my laptop and hot spoting off my phone , it will connect , shows connected but with a ! mark , and when you look at the connection it says no internet connection. if Direct connect with a charge cable it works ... but thats not ideal.

I met the same problem like above. The problem is that when I have been completed my iphone7 plus IOS 13.1.2 upgraded, I found that I will lose the Hotspot connection after 10 - 20 minutes in using. I have no idea if there is a bug issue from IOS 13.1.2. It is very frequently i got that.

I have a similar issue on my iPhone 8. I use hotspot every day on my commute to log part of my working day, and have been doing this for the past 3 years pretty successfully. Since I upgraded to 13.1.2 I struggle to connect to my hotspot (it used to almost always connect automatically) and once I'm connected, it disconnects regularly. Very frustrating!

Yesterday I updated iOS and hotspot has been very intermittent. Tried multiple things: like restart, forget the wireless from preference etc.. still not working properly. Sometimes it connects and drops in 20 mins. Other times I get a message “Can’t connect to this network”.

Extremely frustrating. Is there a fix?

Unfortunately, now IOS updates are becoming like windows patches. Many unpleasant surprises.

I am having the same issue on my Xr - so it is not specific to old iPhones. I upgraded to IOS 13.1.2 the other day and tried to hotspot to my computer as I was out of WIFI yesterday and have spent the last 24 hours wasting time trying to get the hotspot to work and re-setting up my phone after following the recommended solutions. Not Happy! My hotspot is still not working - as per one of the replies above - I don't get the option to turn it on (or off).

Thanks Dr1223wa - I have done both of the resets you mention above (and turned my phone off and on prior - and my hotspot on/off option still did not reappear. I have used the hotspot for years on various iPhone models and never had this issue before. I would be very disappointed if I had to do these re-sets every time I returned my iPhone off - they are most inconvenient. What is Apple going to do about this??????

Same model, same issue. Sometimes connects (not for long) sometimes just won’t. Managed to connect to work laptop all day but TV - forget it!! No issue if you have broadband, but hotspot is essential for me as I live on a boat. C’mon apple, need a bug fix quickly on this please, my data costs me serious money and I can’t use it!!!

i have 2 iPhone 7, one is updated with iOS 13.1.2, and i can connect to the hotspot on the one that it’s not updated, but with the one that is updated i can’t connect. I’ve tryed with Ipad 11 pro, iPhone 8 and none connects.

Exact same thing with me. Updated to 13.01.02 on October 9th and as soon as my phone restarted and I tried my hotspot, it’s not working. It shows a connection to my fire stick by stick says it is not connected to internet. I tried everything suggested. I almost lost it when they told me it was a fire stick issue even though I told them it worked right before I updated (minutes) and did not immediately after. They settled on telling me Firestick needs to come out with an update. Please. Get me back to previous IOS. This too is costing me money every month. Android here I come....

Found another bug with this update - now my directory and recent class/missed calls data does not transfer when using the phone in my car!! Grrr - I completely understand agile development, I work in IT, but these are pretty rudimentary bugs and should have been picked up in testing- this is surely core functionality??? Cmon apple - this is not good enough!!!!
