JAVA on Mojave

I have been unable to resolve this from looking at other posts. Let's assume I was a proficient Windows user, and have recently made the switch to MAC, and have no clue how to navigate and do all kinds of convoluted things that were second nature to me in XP ..... so ...

I've got a network thermostat system that requires a jar file be run so I can access it. All the reading I've done so far seem to require almost programmer-like skills to make a JAR file work on a MAC ....

Is there not a SIMPLE way to allow one (or possibly two) JAR files to operate without having to get behind the guts of the Mojave OS to do so?

Thanks! And please use language that a very tired windows power user can understand... I no longer want to work for my computer.... MAC was billed as working for ME. :).

thanks!

Thanks for the reply Bob. There is an issue running jar files.... Safari says it just plain won't. Neither will Firefox. From my readings, Apple nixed jar files in their Safari browser due to some security issue and I'm just looking for a workaround.

Yes to both of your statements.... I disclosed this up front :) I am familiar with XP, AND the thermostat is was designed for that but will execute on a MAC as long as said mac can execute a jar file. So now that I've moved to MAC, it will need to support a few thousand $$ of these thermostats that I have in several buildings. I'm hoping I don't have to keep an XP machine running just for this sole purpose.

I am in the process of learning the MAC but was hoping for a non technical solution, since it's going to take me a bit of time to become as proficient in Apple as I was in XP.
