I downloaded Evernote but decided to eliminate. It was eliminated from iMAC using Clean my Mac, but when I gently press the icon in iPhone 8 Plus I cannot get the cancellation 'x'. The App immediately starts up. Help instructions in Google didn't work, either.
If you are running iOS 13 or later, the touch no longer needs to be gentle. A quick tap should start the app and a longer touch and hold, using any amount of pressure, should bring up a menu with the "Rearrange Apps" option and choosing that will then allow deletion. Really helpful. Touching the Evernote icon always opened the App without exception. What I hadn't realized was that even with the App opened, continuing the finger pressure would eventually lead to the vibrating apps regardless of their being opened. Many thanks.
