iPhone email signature image not showing

Since updating to ios13, my email signature logo is not showing in my email.

It is saved in signatures, so the signature is coming across, but the logo is a blank box?

You only do it manually one time if you do it according to my instructions. Spark app-create signature and insert image from a picture button in spark app. Then create a new email, copy the whole signature.

Go to iPhone settings - emails - signature and paste the signature.

I was researching on this issue and found this thread.

Several input towards using a picture from an online server is part of the solution. But it turns out that there is a limit in iOS to the size of the picture. The limit is described elsewhere as being 320 pixels, and anything larger than that will result in null or nothing showed in the signature.

On iOS14 I found out that this will work with larger pictures:

  1. Make sure the picture is on a webserver or shared in a picture-service, other has explained how to do this.
  2. Create a .html file on your computer with this source code (replace the picture-url with your picture):

<!DOCTYPE html>

<html><head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"></head>
<body style="word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; line-break: after-white-space;" class=""><span style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);" class=""><font face="Consolas, Courier New, Courier, monospace" size="3" class="">
<img src="https://pictureurl.jpg"; style="width:90vw;height:auto;"></font></span>
</html>

3: Save the .html file to your icloud-drive to transfer it to the iPhone.

4: Open the file in the document browser, Archives.

5: Copy the picture to your signature.

Use it and be happy.

Sincerely

Peter

Solution that ended up working for me - signature created as a html file with the company logo image as a referenced html link (not embedded image).

  1. Emailed that file to myself as an attachment.
  2. Open the attachment from the email in ipad / iphone which uses the detfault apple quickview
  3. click on the button top right that is a square with an up arrow (usually where you forward / send to others etc).
  4. Choose the "Copy" option which is the first item under the row of possible apps to send the attachment to.
  5. jump out of that (dont send anywhere)
  6. go to settings and mail signature.
  7. select in the signature box and hit "paste."
  8. all the formatting and the referenced logo / link magically pops in as it should.

It looks like when you "paste" a file it doesn't strip the formatting. Odd that you would have to paste as a file rather than pasting the contents of the file but hey... Might work with embedded images as well but haven't had to try that.

I had this same issue. I tried numerous ways of copy/paste, trying to save the image in photos etc but nothing worked - meaning the photo/image would be pasted fine when editing the signature on the iPhone app but after hitting "back" and checking the signature again, the image would be replaced by a blank with a rectangular outline.

The way I got this to work again was as follows:

  1. Open the Outlook signature on the MAC (either Outlook web or 365 application). Open Outlook settings and go to the signature editing setting and prepare the signature there using the editor available inside the Outlook settings page.
  2. COPY the signature from inside the editor in the Outlook settings page. There is no copy button - so just highlight the whole thing including the image in the signature and use Command-C
  3. Use the "COPY/PASTE ACROSS IOS/MAC DEVICES" feature (meaning copy on one device and paste on another) to paste this signature into the Outlook IOS App signature box (inside settings).
  4. Voila! When you compose a new email the image will show up as you made it!

Here are steps that work for me using Spark desktop and mobile.

  1. Create a new signature in Spark desktop, drag the logo into the signature
  2. Host this logo, on Google drive, dropbox (too slow to load), or any hosting servers even yours if you have one,
  3. Get the shared link, and replace the local image in the HTML code with your shared link
  4. Wait until the desktop spark syncs with your iPhone spark app
  5. Open spark app, copy and paste it into mail signature in the email application on your iPhone

Notes:

When you try to send an email using your mail application on iPhone you will not be able to see the logo, only the recipients will. Also if you want to test email to desktop computer or your friend's iPhone. Your iPhone will not show the logo.

#1 SUGGESTION ON THIS THREAD: The DOTS solution: The “dots” before and after the image did not work....image disappeared and I had 2 dots again.

#2. Downloaded the SPARK app and created my custom signature....then sent an email to myself....opened it in the native OS app....copied and pasted it into settings (after making sure that Load Remote Images was still selected)....pasted and closed the settings....went back to native app and created email.....now shows a small square with “null” instead of the image.

Ready for another potential solution!

Here is my signature I’m trying to get to “stick:

Again ... you are exactly right. But as you said before, they could respond by saying that they have recognized the problem and that they are working on a fix. Customers are understanding. I'd be willing to be patient if they displayed a teensy bit of humility in recognizing a problem they don't have a solution for. But with this kind of abstinence and arrogance ... well ...

Say hello to my next phone.

I hope they fix it.... the ONLY reason I upgraded to iOS13.2 was for the Airbuds Pro that arrived today. I had planned to stay away until end of year because of all the bugs reported since 13's release.

"Load remote images" was already on, I turned off, restarted the phone and NO DICE for my logo....

C'mon Apple, give us 13.2.1 fixing HTML signatures ASAP! PLEEEEEEASE!

I found a solution that worked for my self. After I inserted my html signature all css styles where gone. After that a short shake on my iPhone it asks me to undo "attribute changes" - I approved the action and all styles have been restored.

It seems to me the styles are deleted after inserting the html signature to the input. You can undo the style removal by shaking the iPhone.

when I received the undo message it did not say “attributes changes” it just said undo. I’m not cutting and pasting my signature from a sent email from outlook, it’s sending from Apple mail so I don’t know if that makes a difference. I wish Apple Mail Had a composing setting that says HTML instead of saying Rich text so I’d know for sure.....
