Replacing ATI Radeon HD 4670 256 MB
My graphics card is going out on my 2009 iMac 21.5" and needs to be replaced. Any suggestions of a replacement besides the ATI Radeon HD 4670 256 MB?

Not really, no. You’d have to tear your iMac almost apart, lots of screws and connectors to remove, so it’s not really easily user replaceable, not really worth it. Back up your stuff and look into buying a refurbished iMac or a newer used one. It can be done if you’re desperate, but it’s about $300 for a “new” card plus the work involved

I have to agree, investing any money in 10+ year old computer is not a wise use of your money. 2009 iMacs have been considered obsolete for many years now, when they are declared obsolete by Apple this is a good time to begin planning for it's replacement as yo then know Apple no longer officially supports it which means getting parts is difficult if not impossible. In addition, newer versions of Mac OS will simply not run on your computer.
I would recommend upgrading to a new Mac. If for some reason that is not possible and you are located in the US, consider an Apple Refurbished computer. You can find these at www.apple.com at the bottom of the home page. Apple's refurbished devices have no downside, they are identical to a new computer, have the same 1 year warranty as a new device, are eligible for AppleCare and can save hundreds of dollars. If finances are an issue, Apple offers great financing for qualified buyers.
