Cancel apple watch update?

I just got my apple watch (series 3) and for one, the 6.0.1 update is taking a VERY long time and two, after reading some things I'm not sure I really want the latest update. I'm thinking about cancelling the download but I see no way to do that. What can I do?

Reset your Watch by pressing in the crown and side button until you see the Apple logo, then release both. At this point you can choose whether you want to download the update or leave things as they are. Personally, I always choose to update.
