itunes purchased songs won’t download

Hi all,

I just purchased a couple songs in iTunes, but they won’t download. Pressing the download button starts what looks like a download (downloads show up briefly in downloads tab). Purchases tab indicates downloading unless I switch to a different tab then back, then it shows the downloadable cloud icon again. I tried restarting the app and my iPad but no change. I recently updated to iPadOS - not sure if it’s related, but downloads worked before the update. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help.
