Silence Unknown Callers

I have an iPhone 7 which is updated to iOS 13.1 yet I do not have the “silence unknown callers” feature in my phone settings. How can that be? Isn’t iOS 13 the same on all phones? How to I fix this issue? Thanks

Hi powaysteve,

Thanks for posting. I understand you're not seeing the "Silence Unknown Callers" option under Settings > Phone.

This resource, Detect and block spam phone calls, has some information that might apply:

"If an emergency call is placed, Silence Unknown Callers will be temporarily disabled for the next 24 hours to allow for your iPhone to be reached."

If you've placed an emergency call recently, that may explain what's happening. If you haven't, or if the issue persists after the 24 hour timeframe, it may help to update your device to iOS 13.1.2 to see if that helps: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch and Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

After updating, tap Settings > Phone and scroll down to see if the option now appears under the "Call silencing and blocked contacts" section.

Hopefully the information above helps you! Take care.
