Bridging ethernet and WifI connections on my Macbook Pro

Hi Clever People

My daughter is at University and wants to be able to play online with her Playstation 4, unfortunately the WiFi network appears to have been deliberately restricted to prevent this.

She has 2 networks available, one (unrestricted) she uses for her MacBook Pro that requires username and password (PS4 can connect to this) and the other I guess is expected to be used for streaming devices etc. (PS4 can connect, but restricted).

I have just purchased a USB-c to Ethernet adapter for her MacBook Pro and was hoping to be able to bridge the connected between this device and the internal WiFi adapter.

I know this can be done on Windows computer, but I can't seem to find this option on her MacBook.

Any advise you could give me would be much appreciated.

I don't know what you expect to achieve from your question but I think you might be referring to sharing a connection. This won't allow you to bypass network restrictions.

If you wish to connect to that device, you should NOT use Wi-Fi to do so. It is likely to disrupt the overall School Wi-Fi Network in that building, and jeopardize legitimate use of the school network.

Adding another Wi-Fi Router at a University, where the airwaves are already very crowded, is likely to cause Network slowdowns and dropouts for others. That is why it is prohibited. Eventually, the IT people at the school will track down the cause, and confiscate the devices involved, and possibly disciple all involved.
