What does aA mean in the search bar on my iPad? I just did an update last night and that is on there today

The aA icon is a new feature of iPadOS. Tap it - and you reveal a menu of Safari options, including font size, reader view and others.
And no - you can’t remove the icon.
You don’t.
It is part of Safari/iPadOS.
Did you read my post reply above about what this actually does?
I know what it means but I want to delete it. It only appeared with the last Update.
You can’t delete it - as already stated (but in other words) it is an integral element of the updated Safari browser.
