Only see an option for OFF on airplay after upgrade to Catalina.

When trying to turn airplay on in the display settings on my MacBook air I can only see the option for off. This seems to have just started happening since I upgraded to macOS Catalina. Don't know how to fix this and could really do with help. my MacBook air is the 2018 one.

Macbook has no Airplay option I have a MacBook (Retina, 12-inch, 2017) running Catalina 10.15.2 I tried to turn on Airplay by going to System Preferences, Display and the only option is 'Off', I cannot select or see another option from the dropdown menu. Any ideas?

How can turn on the airplay on macOS? macOS Catalina 10.15.7. In system preference > displays > display The dropdown menu for "Airplay Display" only has the off option when I click the dropdown. How do I get the on option?
