In Catalina, how do I "manually manage" music with iPhone and Finder

When connecting an iPhone, and clicking it in the Finder sidebar, the General tab displays. There is an option to "Manually manage" music, etc. In lieu of sync, how does one "manually" move song files back and forth between devices?

I figured it out. In the Music app, your iPhone will appear in the sidebar once connected and you can manually drag and drop tracks on the iPhone icon just as you would in iTunes. I found a bug however, if you import new songs into Music and try to drag it onto your iPhone, it won't work for some reason. But if you close and reopen Music, it will then allow you drag and drop your newly imported tracks.

Same here!

And I am already running the latest Catalina update!

Please bring back the basic functionalities as we were able to use them in iTunes!

I understand that dragging/dropping songs to playlists is nothing more but a totally basic functionality.

Same goes for the Columns browser ... why has it disappeared??!

The filter box isn't an appropriate replacement ... really not!
