Catalina bricked my 2015 MacBook Pro. What to do now?
I’ve just “upgraded” to Catalina.
My laptop is now bricked.
All I get is the “folder?” logo or nothing at all if I try “option” or “command R” on boot up.
What to do now?

Had similar issues with my 2018 MacBook Pro. I had the beta for months with no issues. Just when I tried to update to Catalina did it give me problems.
The problem in my case is that no key sequences work at startup so there is no way to tell the Machine to boot from the installer.
Same issue with my late 2014 iMac and I can't even report it here as my posts are being deleted. Go figure. Add me to the list waiting on a fix... and having bought my last Mac ever.
Its not bricked if they talked you into a downgrade... this issue requires some type of reprogrammed EFI
Seems like a visit to the Apple Store is in order.
Same issue here...
The same here ! It’s really annoying but it's reassuring to see that I'm not alone...
Your EFI is fried. Find a 3rd party repair place that can re-flash the Main Board chip.
How much does that cost
Had my visit to the apple store today.
Same thing as others requires a £475 ssd replacement.
Having the same problem with my Macbook Pro late 2016. No recovery mode options, nothing. I need it urgently, hopefully Apple will provide some official fixes ASAP.
ssd? you sure about that? most state its the efi chip on the logic board.....
The problem is it's impossible to go in internet recovery, look all the message, no key are workings, i have tried to remove ssd and it's impossible to run on usb boot.
(Sorry, this is in response to rkcomp) Hmm looks like Apple doesn’t like your answer. I also know someone who did the same as you and their keyboard and USB ports aren’t working.
Hei..could you post the files??
