Is there a PrintShop that is compatible with Mac-Catalina OS? I work for a school and do the marketing, therefore in need of an Upgraded PrintShop - if not, any idea of when there might be one coming out?

I have this question , also. All of my cards, charts, recipes and letters are no longer visible.

Totally lost until I and upgrade Print Shop. When will they have the upgrade for Catalina users available?

I'm assuming you mean the quarter-fold cards that are made on a full sheet of paper. Yes, Swift Publisher 5 has a template for that. It's not as easy as Print Shop because the entire page is on the screen at once. For the quarter-fold some parts of the card have to be designed upside down. You can, however, lay it out right side up and there is a command to flip or rotate text and graphics. I like the way Print Shop handled each quarter panel better, but this is at least an alternative. There are also templates for half-fold, tri-folds, z-folds, gate-folds and 5-6 others. Their quarter-fold is called a "French Fold" and the card opens on the right. They don't have a separate template for a quarter-fold that opens from the bottom (although you could easily design your own template). A few other things it does is flyers, catalogs, newsletters, calendars, certificates, business cards, mailing labels and more. There is a free 30-day trial.

I work at a school and have been asking the developer for almost 2 years what their plan is for upgrading The Print Shop to 64 bit. Very little if any response. Donʻt bet on it coming anytime soon. Received a message from a member of their support team late last week that gave no timeframe for an update. Best suggestion is to find another app.

I'm posting here to follow this conversation. I have upgraded 2 out of 3 Mac's to Catalina. I'm waiting to do the last Mac for an upgrade to Print Shop 4. It's the last app that needs an update. They have know about this change for quite some time so I don't understand why they weren't prepared for this. I too would gladly pay for an upgrade that works.

I played with Swift Publisher and have decided to purchase it. I'm still hopeful Mackiev will release their Catalina upgrade for the Print Shop 4, but, in the mean time, I'm moving on. I upgraded to Catalina this weekend.

Print Shop aside (and it clearly warned me it wouldn't work after the upgrade, so no one should be claiming that it caught them off guard), it seems like Catalina is still very buggy. The Music app constantly loses all of my album artwork and my Photos app still claims to be syncing with iCloud rendering certain functions, like the "People" view, inoperable. iMovie can't access my Photos library; just a spinning wheel.

Not very impressed with this release...based on articles I've read, this (and iOS 13) have been very problematic for Apple.

Just to add since I need to vent somewhere. I'm now in the process of restoring a 60,000+ photo Photos library that got corrupted with the upgrade to Catalina. Not to mention a perfect storm of Time Machine losing a year of backups today. Not sure how, as I had accessed Time Machine yesterday and restored an old file.

Fortunately, I'm restoring from iCloud Photos and I think I'll have everything back to normal once it downloads everything. But this could've been a very sad day for me and a lesson for having multiple backups, as Time Machine can be unreliable.

For those on an older version of macOS, it's probably better to stay there. I see nothing in Catalina (now that I've upgraded) that makes it worth the hassle or risk. Just a lot of wasted time.

Once your Photos syncs and finishes downloading from iCloud, in order for the "People" to scan you need to SHUT DOWN Photos but leave your computer running. According to the software, "Photos will continue scanning your remaining photos when you're not using the app and your Mac is connected to power." Once this process starts, click on the "People" page and it will tell you how many photos have been scanned and how many the computer has left to scan. For me, this has been an agonizingly slow process. I started timing it when I had 45,422 photos scanned (out of around a total of 90,000 photos). 1 day later 53,596 photos had been scanned. After 2 days I had 65,176 scanned, after 3 days I had 78,972 and after 4 days I had 80,709 scanned with just over 10,000 left. I'm guessing that the more photos the computer has to scan, the longer it takes to search through all those pictures.

Another "nasty" thing I noticed is that all of the photos that I had previously edited (before installing Catalina) have mysteriously LOST their editing! The edited thumbnail photos show the symbol that they have been edited (three small white horizontal sliders in the upper right corner), as does the bigger photo when you double click on it prior to editing. HOWEVER, when you click on EDIT, all your previous adjustments and cropping are GONE and what you see is your original photo as it came from the camera. If you then click DONE with editing the image is now your original from the camera photo, but still has the "edited" symbol. Double click on that to reduce it to a thumbnail and you see the EDITED photo again! Sadly, if you EXPORT the larger photo when it looks okay (before you click on EDIT), or if you export the thumbnail that also looks okay, what exports is the original from the camera photo (not the edited version). I'm hoping that eventually the actual data containing the "edits" will also be downloaded -- but what are the odds of that happening?

Any pictures loaded and edited AFTER I got Photos reloaded from iCloud -- the editing works as usual.

Do others have this editing issue ... or is it just me??

I purchased Swift Publisher 5 for Mac as a replacement for Print Shop. It does more things than Print Shop but doesn't seem as intuitive (maybe it's because I've used Print Shop for so many years?). Swift Publisher 5 does do fliers and make labels (and brochures, calendars, business cards and desktop publishing). They have a free trial you can try. The full working version is not very expensive.

Is there a PrintShop that is compatible with Mac-Catalina OS? I work for a school and do the marketing, therefore in need of an Upgraded PrintShop - if not, any idea of when there might be one coming out?
