iTunes version 12.10.1.4

After updating to iTunes version 12.10.1.4, when I plug my iPhone in to Win10 desktop, the ability to sync in iTunes is not provided. WT?

  1. There is typically one rolling backup per device. Backups should persist through iTunes updates, though not perhaps when switching from the old school installer to the Microsoft Store release of iTunes. See Locate backups of your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support to see where the backups are stored. If you've switched versions you could switch back, or move the data to the folder where the installed version looks for it.
  2. See Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod using your computer - Apple Support. Note syncing is generally one way, library to device. If your library is missing media then syncing will likely remove anything you still have on the device. Start with Empty/corrupt iTunes library after upgrade/crash - Apple Community.
