Ipod classic and new podcast app

Is there a way to sync podcasts and eject other than with the finder? It would be pretty annoying if I can no longer use my device to listen to podcasts.

And yet it does:

You can also drag and drop episodes from the podcasts app to the device in Finder. Not as easy as with Music and TV where the options in the context menus but it can be done. What you cannot do is manually manage audiobooks. For that there really doesn't appear to be any drag & drop support.

Agreed, I have had multiple issues with it.

The Podcasts app - no matter how you tweak your settings - it will not read the 'played flag' on the ipod classic. It keeps downloading episodes and marking them as unplayed on the ipod - even though they had already been played.

No longer is there a progress bar while a sync is under way.

I wish that the fact that its moved into Finder was the biggest issue I had.

If you find another app that works, I'd love to hear about it.
