“add to home screen” option suddenly disappeared on iPhone SE running ios13. I flicked out the safari app (forced closed??) and force restarted the phone with power and home buttons to no avail.
This happened out of the blue. one minute I added a bookmark to home screen, and a minute later, I couldn’t add a different one. I’ve tried several miscellaneous websites and none have the option.

I just found the ad to home screen option.
One you tap the share icon (at the bottom of your browser window) then swipe up from the bottom of the screen to see the “add to home, and other options,
I learned this by accident —in all the searching I did online, not one instruction mentioned swiping up to reveal options.
