Bluetooth issues since upgrading to ios 13.1.2

Since updating to the latest ios version, I am no longer able to use my phone with my vehicles radio system, Toyota Entune, in my 2015 4Runner. When I connect the phone through the car, the radio begins to reboot every 30 seconds or so. When I disconnect the phone, the Entune system (radio) no longer intermittently reboots. I have tried almost everything I can think of or have read in other posts. This upgrade has been problematic at best.

Mine seems to be fixed. 2019 Sequoia. I had Toyota do the dealer only firmware upgrade a month or more ago. That didn’t fix it. But the recent upgrade to iOS 13.3 seems to fix things. For now. So not sure if it’s just 13.3 or if it’s the combination of 13.3 with the dealer only firmware upgrade. Others should try this and report back. And I’ll report back if mine fails again. But for now no more resets.

I have a iPhone XS with IOS version 13.3. I have the exact same issue that everyone else has detailed in this discussion post i.e. My 2015 Toyota Entune radio without navigation connects via Bluetooth and within one minute or so the radio begins a constant reboot process until I turn off my Bluetooth feature on my phone. With the iPhone Bluetooth off, my radio functions properly.

Note: Toyota does not have a software update for my radio.

I did follow the suggestion in this post to remove, and add my iPhone without syncing my contacts and the radio no longer reboots. Of course, I no longer have contacts on my radio which is in convenient but at least the radio no longer reboots.

Hopefully, Apple and Toyota will get their tech staffs together and provide a fix to this issue!

Are you sure there’s no firmware update for your radio? The usual process said there was no update for mine either, but in talking to the dealer, a dealer I trust, I learned the dealer has a firmware update for this issue. I had to make an Appt and they installed it for me. Because 13.3 came out after I got that firmware update I wasn’t able to determine whether 13.3 fixed it by itself or if it was the combination of the firmware update with 13.3.

Same issue on my 2015 Toyota Tacoma. Suddenly started occurring midday on 08Jan2020. I have auto update enabled on my phone so I’m not clear what update that may be tied with. I re-synced my phone and truck this morning but disallowed contacts- that seems to be a workaround. Still frustrating (and very dangerous) to not be able to be hands free while driving. My wife has a similar issue in her 2013 Honda Civic. I’m pretty done with Apple- next phone will be Samsung.

According to secured.toyota.com/download there are no updates for my radio%

I have to go to the dealership tomorrow. While there I and will check with them to see if they know of a possible update not listed on Toyota’s web site.

Given all the posts here, I would hope Apple & Toyota are working on this issue.

Dealer updated my stereo in a 2018 Tacoma and tried about everything posted on the web about fixing this issue. Nothing seems to be a full solution and this issue is beyond annoying. Yes not selecting contacts works, however, you can't use your stereo and voice to call folks and calls come in as unknown. Again not a full solution but go into entunes setup then click phone then scroll down to contacts/call history then select. The first line unclick the automatic transfer button then next line is option to manually transfer contacts. Turn on contacts on phone just long enough to transfer all your contacts then turn off again. Exit out and leave the automatic transfer button unclicked. I can now call and receive from all my contacts. Of course if I add a new contact on my phone I'll have to do this over again but I rarely add anybody that I need them in my stereo. Hopefully Apple fixes this issue in the long run.

I’m so frustrated when I went to purchase the 2019 4Runner, no one bothered to mention this problem, which OBVIOUSLY has been going on for some time!! Could they not have asked what type of phone I have?? They just put a “new” radio in my car and , of course, it didn’t help the issue. And by the way, the 2020’s don’t have this issue (so I’ve been told)!

I have a 2019 Nissan Altima that I got in September of 2019. I’m having this same issue. I couldn’t find any help online but figured out myself that if I didn’t have anything checked besides music play on connecting Bluetooth to my car from iPhone this it works fine. But what irritates me is I can’t use the speech texting feature from my car or calling contacts because it can’t sync to my car. There has to be something that Apple can do to fix this!!! Come Apple get it together!!!

2017 Toyota Tacoma; My personal iphone 8 started having this problem. The curious thing: I have an iphone 8 work phone and my wife has and iphone 8 personal phone also; all 3 phones are the same model. All 3 have the same IOS version.

When Bluetooth to the truck, neither my work phone nor my wife's phone will have this problem. Their phones work with the car, hands free, music, contacts, everything is fine.

Is there some issue, problem with the Toyota entune app/product?

This app is only on my phone, not wife's or work phone.
