Mac Os Catalina - Photos flickering when scrolling

My wife has the same issue. AppleCare replaced the logic board which replaced her GPU and it still persists. Oddly, the checkboard in Catalina only happens on images that were searched and displayed. We don't have the checkboard when scrolling through the photos section. But those same photos will checkboard when we search by location and then look at those photos as part of the search.

I had the same problem, I tried your solution by changing the profile and works. The profile "P3" worked best for me.

Its not ideal because the default profile its better but at least the flickering stopped.

It won’t damage the image file since it’s a “display config” issue only. Please check the temp solution given on the previous messages

After reading display profile changing comments I searched some information about that colour profile. I think it will be helpful for our problem. Check the link for details.

As you can see it's normal for everyone but I suggest you return your macbook, may be it will force Apple to solve this problem and not to close eyes on it. This problem continues for all period of Catalina existence...

Note that holding down the "option and command" keys while opening Photos to rebuild the library can take AN EXTREMELY LONG TIME! Over 24 hours if you have your photos Library on an external drive like I do and many others do. This better not be a permanent solution..

Danopy it is a software problem and did not exist before Catalina. I don't think it is necessary to send the MBP to Apple.

MBP 13 2019 with TouchBar, Two Tbs, clean installed Catalina 10.15.5 - same problem, but only with shared albums with middle or small size of the pictures

I tried everything that you had mentioned and it still flickers (or sort of distorted image) when scrolling through the photos.

I have attached a photo of it and I have marked them with red circles. It happens on selected photos only, I took a photo of from my iPhone. The red block is to protect privacy. When I tried to record screen, it did not flicker. But when I scroll it during normal use, it would flicker. Someone please look into this asap, It gets me paranoid that my 2 year old MacBook Pro worth $4000 is not good enough anymore.

Here is another photo. I have blocked some photos in red for privacy. The photos are from shared album. I have made sure that the photos are completely downloaded on to my computer within the shared album. Its a shared album created by me and it is not shared with anyone.

I am getting this issue also. It is very annoying as I only recently upgraded to a MacBook Pro 2019... I am wondering if this is something I need to get fixed or if it is a software issue. I would rather it get seen too while in warranty if need be.

I have a case pending with Apple. I have provided them everything but they still want a video of it.

Funny thing is, it doesn't happen when you screen capture it. So I will make a video using my iPhone and send it to them.
