iPhone only charges while off,

What’s wrong, my iPhone charged just fine then I updated it and now my iPhone only charges while off. You can plug the charger in and the phone will turn on but it doesn’t show it charging nor does it actually charge while on.

Here are some steps that can help:

Check out these steps here for general issues with charging: If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won't charge
Verify if Optimized Battery Charging is on which can slow the rate of charge for the iPhone: About Optimized Battery Charging on your iPhone
Settings > Touch (or Face ID) & Passcode. Make sure USB Accessories is turned on.
Try a different charging cable to rule out any issues with the cable itself.
