Apple Books on Catalina is not opening any books, not even my own PDFs and ePubs

Apple Books is not opening any books, not even the ones I bought on the Bookstore or my own PDFs and ePubs that I made.

Since I updated my 2015 15 inch Mac Book Pro laptop to MacOS Catalina two days ago, I cannot open any books in Apple Books. When I attempt to open any books in Apple Books, I get the following error:

"The operation couldn’t be completed. (BKAgentServiceErrorDomain error 8.)"

I am hopeful someone can help me fix this issue.

Try deleting the contents of

~/Library/Containers/com.apple.BKAgentService/Data/Documents/iBooks/Updates

Wow! Thank you very much. That fixed the problem. I said "wow" because I spent a lot of time with Apple support trying to solve the problem, but no one realized this simple fix is the solution.
