Books Won't Open - MacOS Catalina - Apple Books can’t access your library.

MacOS Books won't open:

Apple Books can’t access your library.

Make sure the disk containing your library is connected, then click Try Again.

Library Location: /Users/myusername/Library/Containers/com.apple.BKAgentService/Data/Documents/iBooks

You can also reset your library, then sign into view and re-download your purchased books.

This happened a few weeks ago and the following worked:

turning Books off in iCloud and restarting.

turning Books on in iCloud again.

This time it hasn't helped.

Any ideas?

Cheers Rob

I solved this by deleting all files in "Library/Containers/com.apple.BKAgentService/Data/Documents/iBooks" folder and restarting.

(Library is hidden in home directory Shift+Command+. to see hidden files and navigate there

or in Finder use GO > Go to Folder > Library/Containers/com.apple.BKAgentService/Data/Documents/iBook)

I hope this helps someone else.
