Update 4.0.1 Is Available

I HATE Apple. this is the final straw. the update has totally broken the phone. got error 21 - now it won't even load up, restore does not work. Apple reps all gone home. As a journalist i am going to go **** for leather with this.

So upsetting. Has anyone else had this error?

It said various bug fixes as well.

Anyone notice a change in their proximity sensor?

Are still on OS4.? on your MAC? You have to be 10.5 or 10.6?

I take it from your comment that you can easily determine the cause of his problem from the diagnostic messages. If so I'm sure he'd appreciate your conclusions.

I did the update and it did adjust the bars. I get fewer bars now which is probably more accurate.

I think that, intentionally or not, this update will deflect a little attention away from Apple and onto AT&T. Now I can complain to AT&T about a crappy signal 🙂

Updated the phone and spent about 2 hours testing. No problem on my end. Bars still holding strong at 5 inside my house and 3-4 by my job. No dropped calls. Then again I never had that problem. Bars are a little bigger but whatever.

or have i misread your comment? Are you actually able to help me? If you know what the problem is, as nobody else does, then please let me know. I take it a trip to the Genius Bar tomorrow morning is on the cards for me.

Otherwise i was going to locate the broken update file in my back up under mobilesynch folder and see if i can do a new restore.

Marketing method to distract from the antenna / hardware issue(s).
There are mathematical models that can demonstrate subtle shifts of distraction, when it comes to product crisis management, which can have an impact on stock value.

I had the same EXACT issue. I now have a bricked phone - unable to restore. Any advice?

Seems to have solved some of the hanging problems.. went through maps, mail, and facebook...good so far.
