Call quality on IPhone 11

Is anyone else hearing like a static-crackling sound on their calls using the new iPhone? If I had to compare it to anything, it’s sounds like the call is on like Viber or some other Viop service. I tried downloading the new update, restarting the phone, doesn’t work. Any have the same issue or know how to fix it?

Resetting the network settings seems to have solved the issue for now indicating that the Portuguese operator may have already resolved the issue. These settings were already coming from my previous iPhone 8 (with zero issues regarding to calls) but for some reason they were giving this problem in the 11 Pro. I

'll wait and do some more testing to see if it's gone for good.

Took my iPhone 11 back to the Apple Store and explained the issue and what I had done to try to correct it. They hadn't heard of the problem but admitted there have been so many bugs with iOS 13. They replaced my phone with another 11 but said it might not fix the problem - and it didn't. They said it would hopefully be fixed with a future software update. They also said that Apple doesn't necessarily follow these posts and that it is best to notify them via their feedback link https://www.apple.com/feedback/

Go for it!

This is not related to car or bluetooth people. I know several cases in

Portugal with Meo Operator. Vodafone appears not having the issue in Portugal. It sounds

like an iPhone 11 Pro certification problem. Apple already replaced my phone, done

several tests and say it's an operator problem and they should be the ones to

fix it. I have seen cases in several countries, operators and high-end devices

only. Apple Care didn't help and close the incident support saying the cannot

do anything else. Amazing experience with a 1350€ device. Ghostbusting since

September on this issue. Drained out by now. Worst experience ever with a

phone.

Any repairing I've done, IF effective, lasted for one and only one call. Then it was back to the crackling noise. Which from what the other caller tells me is so loud on their end as to be really bothersome. Lots of workarounds .... use AirPods (if you have them and if you don't - like me - another expense), disconnect the bluetooth and just go with the speaker on your iPhone (extremely disappointing for the latest-greatest phone at $1000), disconnect the bluetooth car connection and use the audio off an iwatch (not great with competing road noise, cabin noise etc), go back a series (iPhone X) and hope for a better result as some have said exists with older phones (but why should you have to go back a generation to address a problem with the new phone) or leave it as is and resign yourself to an awful connection. Some pretty lousy choices there. And still zero input from Apple about what is or will be done to address this iPhone 11 issue .....

Hi.

In Poland, we have the same problem with talks. T / Mobile, Orange, Plus and Play networks. Apple blames operators. They exchange phones for new ones but the problem persists.

Sometimes it's good and sometimes it's not. iOS 13.3 did not help.

Cześć.

W Polsce mamy ten sam problem z rozmowami.  Sieć T/Mobile, Orange, Plus i Play. Apple zwala winę na operatorów. Wymieniają telefony na nowe ale problem nadal występuje.

Czasem jest dobrze a czasem nie. iOS 13.3 nie pomógł.

I just went from 8 plus (on ios 13) to 11 pro max on AT&T network 4 days ago. I am having intermittent (but frequent) call quality issues I never experienced on the 8 plus or any prior phone. It isn't a static-crackling sound, but it does sound digital like on a VOIP service, e.g. sound starts breaking apart and almost sounds musical, like a voice "digitizer" or something, almost like you hear in music where someone makes their instrument sound like a voice. It is broken up so much that I cannot understand the other party. And I have received feedback that my voice also sounds choppy to them.

My old iPhone SE also worked just fine. If you read thru these discussion forums you get the sense that there is a bluetooth defect in this phone. Drops a lot of calls too. I'm getting close to getting rid of it for an older (XS) model. That I should even have to consider that is really disappointing. Newest phone, and going backwards. Here's a link to the comment of another poster that says it well ....
