Apple Watch 4 calendar notifications

I am getting daily calendar notifications for an event deleted from my calendar (which did not have daily notifications while on my calendar). I have tried deleting all of the events with that name, turning off notifications on the watch and phone and then restarting both and turning notifications back on and updating my watch and phone. I am still getting the daily notifications. What else can I try to get rid of these?
