As mentioned by @nicrankin I have plugged directly after removing all the laptop covers and casings which I have used to protect the MacBook Pro from scratches and it worked perfectly. I guess sometimes casings/ covers do not allow the plug to properly fit it even there are enough spaces for USB-C ports. Thanks for all the feedbacks.

Yep, that's what's happening. Third time it's happened to me now. All Catalina-related. I have dead brick on my hands, woke up to find battery run down and refusing to charge. Macbook Pro 13" no touchbar. Less than two years old. Can't afford new laptop or expensive fix and need it to work. Last weekend same happened, it was out for 2 days. Tried SMC resets, multiple cables including brand new, then after 2 days and me switching one of cables around after leaving laptop unplugged for hours it suddenly started again. Nothing has worked today. Frustrated. In lock down so can't even go to store. Just glad to see I'm not alone, but this has been going on since October! Apple, you need to sort this out. It's completely unacceptable.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6J5ZuJJD7J4Apple Fails on the Long Run. I have a MacBook Pro 16 with 2 Original Chargers - When connecting to either this problem persist. Directly when I bought. the mac (Catalina Preinstalled) this was an issue and even in Safe Boot this problem exists. I have had a case with Apple since I bought this and kept sending them captures. Now they call me a half year later, after the software support keeps saying that the power-levels are to weak from the charger, that I did not plug correctly - after reading the countless system captures they requested. Long story short --- they said I need to take it in to the genius bar - this is what they came up with a half year later. All Apple stores are closed now - due to covid and when we are thru with this my 1 year support is over. Straight up denial to deal with an issue the mac and catalina has. Nuts!!!!

Called Apple Support and they want me to fork over $876.93 before they’ll even take a look at it if I do the mail-in option. I’m a bit irritated since I understand that the thing is out of warranty, but shouldn’t the charge come after the problem is determined? That’s enough to just purchase a refurbished Macbook, or be most of the way towards buying a used version of the exact same Macbook I have. That’s utterly insane.

Gonna have to think about my options here.

I installed 10.15 earlier in the month, and have since had the same issue, so unfortunately that didn't fix the issue. Having said that, if you look into the version 10.15 released on 10/21/19, it was targeted to users who hadn't yet updated to 10.15, but was essentially the same update. My guess is something in the original 10.15 update caused some to experience errors when attempting the update, which is why it was re-released.

Honestly I’m kind of waiting for Apple to acknowledge this issue officially and I am sitting tight until then. I literally cannot charge my MacBook at this point and it’s just sitting there collecting dust. Given how frustrating this entire situation has been it’s likely that I’ll just sell the thing once I can get actually get it working again.
