Battery not charging after macOS Catalina Update

Macbook Pro 2016 Touchbar full working in very good condition. Backed up on Airport . Running Catalina since about 4 month. Yesterday updated to Catalina 10.15.4. During update I left and came back after about 45 minutes. Macbook was hanging with Apple sign during startup. Watching this for a few minutes decided to Hard Shutdown by pressing the Power Button. MBP started I could log in and I go the information that some program not working properly. Even I connected the Powercable I saw I have only 30% Power left. Ok decided to Restart. Couldnt boot anymore properly battery dropped and the housing/casing of the MBP became super hot. Got scared closed it (lid) and decided to keep the charger in (even dangerous) and try the next morning because it was late and I want to browse Online first about that issue. Tried this morning. No more response. Seems Battery fully drained. Charger not working, Spare Charger of Macbook (smaller one) (wife) not working. All 4 Ports not working. If I close the lid I can feel that the typical sign on the lid that power is there. As soon as I open the Lid no more. So my MBP is dead and 6 month ago my Iphone X died with Ghost touching and death Microphone and Speaker even Service told me that it was never open or became wet. All after Software updates. No need to call the service. 1st Covid 2nd will ask you terrible amount for nothing. Thanks Apple. Can only say. Since years it becomes worse.

I hate Catalina! The worst software from Apple ever... I also have this problem = And after having spend since November with Apple support, and countless Tests, they sent me to the Genious Bar - not so genious, as it happens on all my macs that run catalina, and covid 19 has genious bars closed... This has happened to me as well, the adapter was working fine prior to the update to Catalina and was even showed it was charging but the battery was just draining.

Having same issue after catalina upgrade. I have a dell d6000 dock, it seems to sometimes work, not quite sure whats going on. I tried updating the d6000 drivers but still seems to randomly work.

The support team didn't think there was any issue with Catalina yet on the phone call. Maybe have to wait until Catalina v2.0 shows up!

Just wish Steve Jobs come back.

First iOS 13 broke my iPhone, I used ios 13.2 beta to solve the problem by myself.

Now the Catalina broke my Macbook pro, what's wrong with you, Apple ??!!

Updated my MacPro 2015 to macOS Catalina, my battery was taking 2 hours to drain, but now it does not charge anymore. Battery level here is 0% and I cannot unplug energy cord.

My 2017 MBP just developed this issue also. I updated to Catalina last week. I am using a stock Apple charger. I have no external monitors connected currently, although I occasionally use one.

It is HIGHLY unlikely that all 60 Macbook Pro 2018's I manage at my company are hardware defective. If so, Apple has a bigger problem on their hands.

I have 2 chargers. Both were working fine prior to Catalina update. Now one of them works, and the other doesn't. Both chargers are original. Macbook Air mid 2013

I have the same issue with a D6000 docking station at work. It always charged fine before the Catalina update and now it doesn't. Hopefully Apple fixes this soon.
