As mentioned by @nicrankin I have plugged directly after removing all the laptop covers and casings which I have used to protect the MacBook Pro from scratches and it worked perfectly. I guess sometimes casings/ covers do not allow the plug to properly fit it even there are enough spaces for USB-C ports. Thanks for all the feedbacks.
This issue happens when the battery decrease to 30% , it doesn't charge until the battery goes to 1%
Have you heard anything new yet? After Catalina, did your computer get hot or did you have trouble with the sleep mode?
Yes mine is getting unusually hot especially when using an external monitor.
Ok. I’m doing what I don’t want to do and reinstalling Catalina. Will update after.
Hang in there. Let us know how it went.
How did the phone call go? Did you have to reinstall?
I have different problem, battery life is shorter than before update to Catalina, about 70% less.

Oh, the update was 10.15.1. I’m running this on a new 2019 MacBook Pro 13” w/ Touch Bar.
This is exactly what I'm experiencing! I don't know what to do!
They told me I was S.O.L. I could not believe it. My MacBook Air is now in the dumpster.
Indeed, SMC reset was the very first thing I did before I even started posting on this forum. Even tried the PRAM reset. It doesn’t solve the problem unfortunately.
Anyone knows if going back to previous OS works to fix this annoying problem?
any updates??
I tried to do that with support on the line but because I could not charge the computer, I could not perform the install. The install would not run. - JC
Mray8694. Did you get any resolution? What did you have to do after you called Apple?
