Since Catalina, my screenshot software (SnapNDrag) always sees the desktop background as the foreground, no matter what I want to make a screenshot of.
The same happens when I want to use the colour picker in my photo software (Affinity Photo): it only sees the desktop background photo.
How can I fix this?

The same happened to me.
I resolved it by allowing SnapNDragPro.app to "register screen contents even when using other apps" in "System preferences --> Security and privacy --> Privacy -->Screen recording"
The same action is needed for example for other applications like AnyDesk ...

Changing the desktop background to something else isn't helping, either.
Command+Shift+3 / Command+Shift+4 for screenshots work corretly.
