I am using a 2017 iMac 21.5 with Logic Pro X version 10.4.7 on Catalina and so far unable to locate the CPU/HD meter. I have researched YouTube videos and various forums, however the dropdown menu options differ from what I have. The meter doesn't seem to exist. Any ideas?

You are in what is known as "Garageband Mode". The "wooden" edges give that away. You should enable all your advanced tools:
Can you please post a screenshot of what you see? I cannot tell what forums and what video's you have seen, so I don't know what you didn't see. I also cannot tell which menu you dropped down.
I am staying on OS 10.12.6 (Sierra) and LPX 10.4.4 since the Catalina/10.4.7 combi has been extensively reported as very buggy. Most music professionals prefer to stay 2 or 3 OS versions below the latest greatest. I am still on Sierra and at best I may this or next year update to High Sierra, but probably not even that, because 10.4.5 and 10.4.6 and 10.4.7 are widely reported as being more buggy than the Sierra - 10.4.4 combination, and there are no compelling new features in 10.4.5 to 7 to be had, so... if you can roll back, I'd advise you to do so.
I'm using Logic 10.4.7 on Mojave. This is how it looks here.

Your layout looks quite different from what I'm seeing. Here is a screenshot.
under view, scroll down to customize control, open it, under LCD dropdown menu to customize it and click LCD will put it on bar of LoGic
Thanks for your input! As you can see, the VIEW options are limited. No LCD dropdown or customization, unless I'm missing something here.
As you can see, the VIEW menu is not much help in finding the CPU meter.
