Trash icon in my Inbox
The trash icon is no longer in the bottom bar. I have to swipe them select Move Message and then select Trash. This is very inefficient. How can I efficiently delete emails?

To do Mass Delete you need to do the following:
It's important to close out of Settings and the Mail app for the changes to take affect.

Not sure I understand.
Are you saying when you open an email and want to delete it, the Trash icon in the bottom right corner is not there and only the Reply icon is there?
Is your email account Gmail?
For Gmail accounts the Trash icon is not a trash bin but a different looking icon left of the reply arrow. At least that's what I show for my Gmail account. Maybe you have to setup mass delete in my other post before you see the delete icon.
Sorry, the post with the screenshot is incorrect. That icon I show in the screenshot is for archiving and in Gmail mail goes to the All Mail folder.
Once you do the steps in my post above, that icon will change to a Trash can.
Yes, the trash icon is not on the lower bar and yes I use Google Gmail
If you have Google mail set to archive the trash can will not appear. It does show on my iCloud account.
I also can’t “bulk” empty (delete) Gmail Trash. I can Select All, but cannot move to Trash.
