One Airpod louder than the other when connected to Macbook Air

Every time I try to listen to my Airpods on my Macbook the right side is louder than the left. This only happens when connected to my laptop, any other device it sounds normal. I have no idea why this is happening. Any help would be much appreciated!

Good afternoon Staugkyl,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!

I understand you are noticing a difference in volume on the right side when listening with your AirPods on your Mac. This is only happening on your Mac. Does this happening when you are listening in the Music app, or in another app like Youtube, or when you are browsing the web in Safari?

First, try resetting your AirPods:

Reset your AirPods

Next, check the general sound settings on your Mac:

  • Apple Menu > System Preferences > Sound
  • Click on the Output tab and make sure AirPods are selected as the device for sound output.
  • Is the balance slider in the middle between left and right?
  • Try tweaking it by sliding it just a little towards the left speaker to see if you notice a difference.
  • Now, remove your AirPods and test with a different pair of Bluetooth headphones to compare.

Take care.
