Bing/Search mine browser redirecting virus

Hey there!

Im stuck with the Bing/Search Mine redirecting virus. Ive already deleted all the malware on my computer with Malwarebytes but my search engine settings are stuck on Search Mine instead of Google...

Anyone can help?

search mine Every time I try to go on Google on Safari, it redirects to Bing. I tried to download google chrome to use but the home page is set to Search Mine and cannot be changed. I have uninstalled MAC cleaning apps and pdf converters which I believe are what caused a virus but I still cannot access Google. What should I do? Thanks.

Safari Every time I search something on safari or google chrome it goes immediately to yahoo and yahoo is not my main search engine so I don't know how to fix this. It is very frustrating when I need to do my school assignments using google. I was reading online about it and it said something about a melware virus on my computer and I don't even know when that app downloaded on my computer and I deleted it off my MacBook air today so I could figure out how to fix this yahoo problem but it didn't do much to help.

Open  (Apple menu) > System Preferences... > Profiles.

Assuming that Mac is yours (meaning, it is not owned, managed, or otherwise controlled by an educational, corporate, or other institution) then there should be no Profiles installed. Select each one that appears and click the [—] (minus) button, then Remove. You will need to authenticate using your User Account login name and password.

Please read the following procedure to determine if the problem is internal or external to your Mac. Causes may involve your router, your ISP, the DNS Server(s) it uses, or certain user-configurable options.

Shut down your Mac.
Load macOS Recovery by holding ⌘ and r (two fingers) while you start your Mac with a third finger.
At the macOS Utilities screen, release those two fingers.
Choose Get Help Online.
Safari will launch, but it will lack your bookmarks, favorites, history and other preferences.

Determine if the problem persists while using Safari in that mode. After that, restart your Mac normally, and reply with your observations.

Hi Toad

I did that at the real beginning but was still stuck with the virus. I got it sorted now with deleting extensions, dodgy app in shared folder, a bad profile and other things found through my Go To folder with the help of John Galt in this chat. So happy its gone!

Download and run Malwarebytes. It should remove the adware/malware.

It was developed by a long time contributor to these forums and a highly respected member of the computer security community.
