Uninstalling MS Word or MAc (64 bit)

Firstly, I am 73 and only mildly computer literate.

I upgraded to Catalina aqnd then thought to try outthe new WORD for MAC. When it installs, it terminates the old version of WORD for MAC (no permission requested). I wish to uninstall the new version of WORD for MAC. MS shunts me off to "JUST ANSWER" which failed to provide any help at all. I have uninstalled the new WORD but how now do I reinstall WORD (I have the old disk)??/

Your old version of Office should still be on your drive and completely usable. What generally happens when installing a newer version is the app sets itself up to open the associated documents by default.

That said, you posted in the Catalina forum. So, if your old version is Office 2011, you can't use it in any way. 2011 is 32 bit software and only 64 bit apps will run in Catalina.

I solved the problem! I was able, with difficulty, to get back to Mojave. Then Installed the Apple program PAGES. I do not want monthly bills and WORD2016 was way over my needs. BTW, WORD2011worked just fine after I deleted WORD2016. But when the trial period ran out after 30 days my WORD2011was wiped from computer, without my consent. The only option presented was to subscribe to WORD2016. This is ransomware. At no time did MS ASK to disable my WORD2011 or to remove it from my computer. If during installation of WORD2016 it had been CLEARLY STATED that my WORD2011 was going to be disabled and then removed I would never have gone forward to install WORD 2016. As above WORD2011 worked fine under Catalina and, I presume, would have continued so to do.
