It seems the temperature monitoring chip on the motherboard is having issues and the software just reboots the phone after not getting a response from it - I don't know why Apple made the decision to cause this to crash the phone, it doesn't seem critical to the functionality of the phone. Any workaround Apple?

Hi there. I wonder if any one can help me out understanding the panic full codes and decoding. as an example i know wdt which stands for watch dug time. and it is related to charging/power line. HydraKiller, explained truly. is there any chart having all codes and decodes altogether. also I know these codes are depended to CPU types.

Related to the charging flex cable port, Solved this simply using an original salvaged charging flex cable, 100% fixed. Some aftermarket charging flex cable aren’t working on iOS 13.x, They’re messing with something related to the thermal system, and forcing a kernel panic. (PS=The phone will keep restarting without any charging port, too).

Your reply saved my phone!

Hope my experience + your solution can help others...

Had some water spill onto the phone while charging which was discovered too late. Phone would no longer turn on, and the USB port looked damaged. Removed the screen and discovered that water traveled into the bottom of the phone so I removed major components from the bottom up until I could be sure all was dry and then let sit 48 hrs to be sure.

Phone finally powered back on, but went to recovery mode and requested I plug into itunes. itunes could not resinstall iOS and kept giving me 4013 error.

At the store, Apple said my phone was gone and to buy a new one - "nothing they could so." A local repair shop said $150, and they could replace the motherboard, but couldn't guarantee anything. FYI, replacing just the motherboard also means FaceID stops working as the camera and board are tied together.

However, since the source of the initial issues was the charging port, I bought a new USB flex and lo and behold, Itunes was able to reinstall the iOS! After patting myself on the back for the $8 repair, I reassembled the phone but discovered it powering off every 3 minutes to the dot. Spent hours trying to diagnose, and ran into many posts about the 3 minute restatrt, but no solutions. Much was attributed to a bad motherboard. Finally stumbled upon this lone reply which suggested my "new" USB flex was actually bad, which was further supported by iOS diagnostics error log showing me that every 180 seconds it was shutting down because it was getting a thermalmonitor error.

Long story short, another new $12 USB flex later from Amazon, and my iphone X is now completely operational.

Hello mosa144,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. It sounds like the iPhone's constantly restarting. I'll do what I can to help.

Be sure to follow the steps mentioned here: If your iOS device restarts or displays the Apple logo or a spinning gear unexpectedly

If you're still having issues, it might be related to hardware. Look into the service options here: iPhone Repair - Official Apple Support

Thanks and have a great day.

I experience the same problem with my iPad Pro.

I went to the Apple Store for repairing but they told me that there is nothing to do but changing the whole board even if it is not cheap and without any sense for economic reasons ( it started happening 4 months after the official warranty expired). I use it in my University courses and I found that the problem arises only when the iPad is cold so it seems it is a problem of the temperature sensor in cold conditions. The solution I found is to play a video for half an hour before using it in class and when it is in temperature the reset problem disappear.

Hope it can help You.

I have the same problem on my iPad mini4. It was perfectly fine until I upgraded the OS to v12. After that, it has never worked correctly and constantly restarts. This IS a software issue and caused by Apple. Apple wants more money. They have written code to cause this problem and their solution is to buy a new battery. This is wrong! It IS a software issue. Apple has lawsuits against them related to this.

Can you give a link to what part worked for you? I have bought a new non-oem and a used oem part and neither worked. A little frustrated with apple for not selling their parts and can't afford paying that much for them to fix it. This phone cannot stay on for more than a minute without rebooting. I am about to be done with Apple products.

In case i have problem like that, i do not use the phone. and search google about iPhone security.

when i see so many security issues, then i give up to fix my problems, as all of my iPhone, air notebook mac (brand new, expensive in 2 weeks its keyboard was hacked off line, that time i realized the wifi changed the all of the IT s working .....it is not like 1990 years ......so there is no off line p.c at all since the wifi is not just going one direction, it goes 360 degree directions ----> on off is just illusion .....when i played any google car running game simulation, i knew i had not use any wifi, but just i downloaded offline game, but it worked just like i was on line and i played music making app of google, then somebody linked my music with their biz links......etc., ) two iPads, and one 2nd hand iPhone i bought. just i guess all of the result are hinting some politics of biz.

here,

china made apple products

china is notorious of doing anythings.

who knows?

i guess actually apple does not know the problems of the users facing.

so we back to think again why i use these products??????

then as far as i can applying my situation,........just go so so.

no need to ask apple as they can do nothing but saying <don't know, not knowing problems pop up messages on tools and whatever>

i guess the same problems with any android with even more worse security........

if one ask & and visit to fix any problem with tool, they do not let one go free forever, they put tags on their products and users, until one dumps them to the trash.

i guess the same process every i.t products with every running business.

when we trust and then found our trust was totally ignored, what can you do??????

reorienting my trust systems all over.

as Booting p.c and any Phones.........

useless answer for all the ssssssss money has been wasted at all,

just as i know the bitterness of that ......have to buy the new products again......
