account recovery

This is embarrassing. My boyfriend and I had a less than amicable separation, I'll spare you the details. When he left he took his own iPhone and also one of the spare iPhones we had upgraded from. This was of no concern to me at the time. I was logged into the spare iPhone, but was apathetic about this as I didn't predict our relationship to take such a sudden heading change. 3 years, our passwords were pretty easily recalled by the other. He has enabled two factor authentication on my account to a phone number I can't access. The iCloud account itself is my email address - and I can still access the email of that address. myinitialname@gmail.com. I've tried account recovery a half dozen times, but when I do somehow it gets canceled. I assume because it alert the phone somehow and he simply cancels the request. I am not sure. Is there anyway to recover my account perhaps using the email address? That is, after all, identical to the account user name. ..whats the solution when someone adds two factor authentication and then fails to tell you... so my account is essentially stolen... I still get my emails, phone calls, etc... but the problem with that is that so does he. I've no privacy now.

As I said, I've tried account recovery at least a half dozen times over the course of the past 60 days, with no result. What gives? Can we use my email address? Can I send in a drivers license photo?

Please help me, I am at the end of my rope.
