I have the DIR-655 as well and now have everything working (fairly) well. I would love to know what you think of the Cisco if you choose to give it a whirl.

Wifi connectivity problems for my iPad are gone definitely now I can connect to my router without have three bars to one bar.

Success at last. I upgraded the firmware on the older net gear dg384 to the latest version and the performance has been rock solid ever since.

Since my D-Link DIR 655 is working quite well with my iPad (as is my Time Capsule) I don't think I'll be changing anything anytime soon. However after watching a couple of videos about how easy it is to set up Cisco's Valet I think I'd take a good hard look at it if I were to make a change one day.

From my reading the only thing this update does is plug a security hole for a PDF vulnerability.

This thread is a discussion about iOS 3.2.1 for the iPad which fixed some wireless issues. You're referring to iOS 3.2.2 for the iPad (or iOS 4.0.2 for the iPhone/iPod Touch), a security update.

OS 3.2.1 fixed all the connectivity issues we were having on my wife's 16G wifi. I never had any issues with my 32G 3g and the new OS upgrade went fine.

3.2.1 definitively screw-up my Wi-Fi connection. Everything was fine before.
I tried reseting my router, changed the settings, etc. No result.
I decided to put an static IP address instead of DHCP and it works very well now.

Could you let us know what settings you "tweaked" on your iPad and/or router ? That might be helpful to us who are still having connection problems. Thanks.

Again, based on my experience connecting in the wild now I don't think I probably would have had to have made any changes to my network or perhaps the iPad after updating to iOS v3.2.1 but you never know.

Household has Two iPads both are having WLAN connection problems. Sig strength three arcs. iPads frequently generate popups connectIng, then sometimes asking to select network.

iPhone 4 OK

Macbook, Desktop and laptop connect no problems.

First iPhone worked OK until recently.

My iPhone was new 16Aug10 and the OS was updated before use.

Loss of connection is so frequent that it makes iPhone almost unusable.

The odds of having two iPads with the exact same problem are pretty slim (unless they aren't running the latest OS). Have they both been updated to iOS v3.2.2? (Don't rely on iTunes telling you that you have the latest software...click on the "Update" button when your iPad is connected to your computer.)

If both of your iPads have been updated and are still having network issues the obvious step would be to look at your network settings, router, etc. Feel free to post some details of your setup.

BTW, did you mean to say your iPad and not your iPhone in your last sentence?

I made the changes to my iPad settings that were recommended in the link you sent and it seems to have eliminated the frequent loss of connections I was experiencing between my iPad and my wireless router. Thanks for your help. P.S. I made NO changes to my router settings at all. Just the settings on my iPad.
